The food here is OK at best, but it is a chain and that's the way it goes. With that in mind, our server Toni was the BEST server I've EVER had at OG, hands down. Previous visits seemed to involve them rushing us to make our table available for the next in line. They were slam busy too and she got everything right, refilled the drinks, paid special attention to the kids, and was just an all around wonderful person. I've sent OG corporate an e-mail too so I hope she is recognized for her outstanding service.

Why must all these chains hire obnoxious and rude teenage girls as hostesses? We asked for a booth only to be brought to a table and when we asked for a booth they brought us back to the front to wait longer though we could see open booths in several places. The food was ok at best.

My family and I (7) decided to go to Olive Garden for dinner I kept getting coupons in my email, and my brother who was visiting had never been. (We loved the one in Idaho, were we are from) Our waitress was very un attentive. We had to ask for breadsticks twice. We finally received our first basket after 20 min. My brother and I both ordered salad I like cheese on mine he don't. They charged us extra because we asked for a second bowl so we could each have it the way we like it. They said it was a sharing size..... Umm, it's unlimited!!! The waitress refused to take it off. The manager said he would talk to her and take care of it. He never returned... Waited 15 min, could not find him. This was only a few of the problems during our visit. Me and my family will never return to the one on academy blvd. Worst dining experience ever!!!!

We have been here two times. The food is good, however the courses are rushed. We love their soups!

My mother was in town for just one night and when it came time for dinner we chose olive garden . I also work at an Italian restaurant so I have a thick understanding for italian food as well as customer service. Everything was nice to begin with although the service was slow. I loved the salad and breadsticks of course! I ordered a chicken parmesan and asked for meat sauce on the spaghetti only. After almost 30 minutes I get my over cooked frozen chicken patties smothered in chunky meat sauce which is not what I asked. I notify our server and she grabs the manager. Let me add that we can see her talking to him and it is very obvious that she was not on our side. She was flailing her arms and rolling her eyes. He then offers us a 3$ coupon when you buy 2 entrees. I find this absolutely absurd since I didnt eat the meal and it was 15.00 for frozen bullshit. They refused to take the food I DID NOT eat off the bill that was over 100$. I declined the offer because I will NEVER be attending olive garden again. They're food is very low quality and the service is awful.

Olive Garden is always dissapointing to me but this Olive Garden lived up to my expectations if a solid chain restaurant. Despite many horrible experiences at other locations we really enjoyed our visit. The soup salad and breads ticks are always solid and steak gorganzala is amazing when prepared right.

For about a month now I've seen the ads on TV for the Olive Garden and thought to myself, well, I haven't been there in a while so why not? The wife and I headed out last night to enjoy some bread sticks, pasta, and drinks. Our experience was terrible, from the wait staff to the meal - I seriously cannot believe that a place that prides themselves on Italian food could screw up basic Alfredo so badly that I wouldn't eat it. My wife's meal was actually worse than mine, which didn't seem possible at the time. A disgusting plate of overcooked angel hair pasta with chicken that was slimy as well. Our waiter was inattentive and apparently does not know how to handle more than one table at a time. Our experience was so bad - I will never be back to any Olive Garden.

I can't say I've ever had good service at this location, but I've never had as bad of service as I had tonight. (Which is saying something... Several years ago a server dumped a drink on my son's baby carrier. Thank goodness he wasn't in it at the time. I'd picked him up a few minutes prior.) So here we go: I specifically asked when ordering drinks if they came with the kids meal. Our waiter said yes, but neglected to mention that root beer did NOT come with the meal when the kids chose that drink. (We actually sent back 4 opened bottles of IBC root beer. It was super sad.) This is one of those times that the waiter needs to know the menu well enough and recognize the need of the people at his table. If I ask if a drink comes with a meal, it's pretty apparent I don't want to pay for one that doesn't. He took forever to take our order, and it took a long time for it to be delivered. He messed up the orders as well, instead of me getting chicken on my pasta, he brought my husband meatballs on his. (Really?! He was there when we ordered, right?) When he did bring the chicken, he brought the wrong one. At one point, while walking my daughter to the bathroom, I noticed him playing ON HIS CELL PHONE in the hallway. We were waiting for the check at the time. Well, that explains our long waits... The food was about as decent as normal. Nothing spectacular... But it saved this review from being just 1 star. If we eat from this location again it'll be take out for sure. Like I said, I've never had good service here... But it's clearly gotten worse.

We went for the "2 for $25" deal. Unlimited soup, salad, breadsticks, 2 entrees and a dessert to share all for 25 bucks! I love Olive Garden because I LOVE Italian food, but our server is what made this experience great for us. I cant remember his name but he was exceptional. Filling drinks, and all the "unlimiteds" promptly. We of course were stuffed before our entrees made it to the table which is fine because we had dinner, dessert and he threw in more breadsticks for us to take home for the next night! Ill be back again for sure! =)

This is my most favorite restaurant in the world and is so for many reasons! I love Italian food, which can be contributed to my maternal grandfather who was born and raised in Italy for 10 years. This restaurant has the best cheese ravioli in the world, which is one of my most favorite foods in the world. I also love their dessert white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Cheesecake is my most favorite dessert in the world and so far, nothing has come anywhere close to theirs. I also love their breadsticks and their salad. When it comes to me, I like to have "salad with my dressing" since I hate lettuce by itself. But Olive Garden's salad is the only one in the world where I can have little dressing on it and be able to eat it without gagging. I also love the interior design, which is truly authentic Italian interior design and is beautiful.

I'll happy drive another 20 min to avoid the lack of effort that was shown in the prepping of my food the cold greeting I was shown at the door and the isolation shown to my table by our hormonal waitress.

We always go to this Olive Garden on the South side of town even though we live closer to the one on the North side of town. After eating at both of them several times, every time we received much better service, better food, and friendlier staff here. I suspect the management may have something to do with it?? My family LOVES Olive Garden. We eat here about once or twice a month.

Yes, I will out myself. I went to the OG. And I just polished off (at 8:23 pm) the rest of the unlimited salad which, BTW, I took home. . . . change me, I'm dirty. I probably have not gone to the OG more than five times, since I could NOT purchase alcohol legally. One of my first dates took me to the Olive Garden. . .back in the olden days. . . . in the mid-west. . . . THAT was a classy, classy date. THIS time, I was WITH one of those first dates, over 20 years later. . . a bit grayer (yeah, both of us, but of course he rocks it much, much better than I). THIS time there was a "mini-us", tagging along. Part me, part him. Alright, enough of the reminiscing. We were immediately seated upon entering. The lady who waited on us was great. Yes, she did sucker me into the wine. It was pretty good. Frankly, it could've been complete crap for all I know, but she had me at "would you like a complimentary sample of. . . . blah blah blah." Yes, you had me at complimentary, and while you're at it, just "filler up". On to the food! The unlimited salad and bread sticks is just like I remember from way, way back when. I can only imagine if Olive Garden even ATTEMPTED to update the breadsticks, there would be an on-line campaign to "bring back the original". They ARE alright. The salad is just as I remembered as well. Honestly, I really like the salad. Pepperoncini, olives, red onion slices, the Roma tomatoes and dressing. I'm such a sucker! For the main course, I chose chicken Marsala. The sauce/glaze was super salty, BUT the chicken, 'shrooms & roasted veggies- -potatoes, green & red peppers, shrooms & onions were pretty good. I was (pleasantly) surprised by four, average sized, boneless chicken pieces, as I was expecting only two. I could only eat two and most of the veggies. I would imagine, the whole serving would be enough for a big fella, along with the salad and bread. My much better half ordered mushroom ravioli which I tried and was pretty good. The little fella had mac & cheese which was a big shocker. . . .NOT. Hey, what the hell, I went to the Olive Garden.

Menu that covers the basics. Whole wheat pasta and gluten free pasta are both available. Unlimited salad could be stepped up a caliber or two: iceberg lettuce just doesn't cut it anymore. Garden Primavera is loaded with taste. Pleasant service. Go early and beat the rush.

Im a big fan of Olive Garden... They have come along way from the 90's and 2000's.. As always the food was delicious.. but this last time, the server kind of messed up our experience. I really didn't want to tip her. She just wasn't happy to be there and it projected on us.. Of course I will be back.. I just hope we get a better waitress.

Unlimited soup or salad is great. The meals are a great size too. Only downside is the wait time is usually really long.

Gosh, what happened to Olive Garden? The food was bland but the service was good. I have other Italian places to go to instead. I love the salads, though.

Salad, breadsticks w/Alfredo sauce, and chicken gnocchi soup is always yummy! It's typically very busy, but service is usually good.

What can I say about Olive Garden that hasn't already been said? Nothing, probably. It's an OK meal at an OK price with OK service and a seating wait time that is entirely too long. This location is strange to me, however, because to me, Olive Garden is like your run-of-the-mill family sit-down restaurant. Nothing special, nothing fancy. But here in the Springs, it's like a date destination or something. Maybe it's the military town effect (no offense, my husband is military, too) but either way, it is very weird. I see couples come in really dressed up like this is their big night out and for me, I only come when my husband drags me here becuase he is craving their salad. I always order the cheesy Ziti and every time I order it I ask for less sauce and every time they bring it out, it has the typical amount on it. Not sure why this always happens, but they have never gotten it right. Not even once! The one thing I can say I really like is the peach iced tea. It is full of flavor and I love eating the peaches out of my glass. Also, those Andes mints you get at the end of your meal with the bill make paying it a little more enjoyable. Who knew I would ever say I look forward to getting the bill at the end of my meal?

I went to the Olive Garden for their Veteran's Day Specials. First off, this is a OUTSTANDING promotion that shows outstanding support for Active Duty and Retired Service Members and consistently reinforces my loyalty to the brand. You chose from a limited menu and the service is at the same standard as always. The best part is that, unlike other establishments that have similar promotions, the entrees come with a choice of soup or salad and the portions are the standard size that they always are. It is truly the definition of a free meal. Thank you. Now to the disappointing part. I sat and watched the bartender offer the promotion to his brother and his friend who were obviously not Service Members. It may be just because I'm an Active Duty Service Member that I took this as an insult? Overall, the promotion is outstanding and a great way to honor Service Members and a big Thank You to Olive Garden.

My girlfriend and I visited this location a couple of times and the service was awful. We waited at our table waiting for the waiter for about 15 min, once we were tired of waiting we complained about the service. The manager responded very quickly and allowed us to move to another table with a different waiter. After being moved the service was no better. We were served but customer service was not there top priority! Needless to say, no tip and we will never visit another Olive Garden again!

I have been to this Olive Garden many times and have never been disappointed, I know some people say it is not real Italian but it tastes pretty good to me, and I have had real Italian food, service is usually pretty good, just one of the few places in the Springs where you will not be wasting your time or money.

Short and sweet, food was take-out for my daughters birthday. It was awesome. The staff was awesome. They allowed us to make a very late order when they were almost closed. We were running a little late getting cake, unpacking our new house, on top of other things so I was pleased and overly excited they allowed us to get food. Thanks Olive Garden you guys ROCK!!

I'd never eaten at an Olive Garden, ever, and the commercials on TV make it look so good that I figured I'd give it a shot. It was just my friend and I, and upon looking around at our section I'm surprised they even made us wait since it was pretty emtpy. I ordered water, which took a while to arrive. My bruschetta appetizer was alright, but the breadsticks, which I'd heard so much about, were flavorless. The place has a really old feel to it. The tables and chairs look like office furniture (rollaway chairs, really?) and the service we got was subpar, especially considering the place was mostly empty. Don't think I"ll eat at any Olive Garden again.

This review goes against all of my better instincts. And if my family knew I was giving Olive Garden 3 stars they would lynch me (they are incredibly Italian and hate this place). But damn I'm addicted to their appetizer platter, salad and breadsticks. It may be one of those guilty addictions because I can be quite honest. I used to eat off the regular menu but have since ceased because of the strong desire I have every time I come here to just punish the waitress with constant requests for a new bowl of salad. The calamari is almost always cooked spot on. The few complaints I have about it are the size of the calamari and the sometimes mildly soggy breading. But I love the creamy white sauce that they serve with it. The best part by far is the pork stuffed and deep fried ravioli mmmmm. I wish they sold these things in the freezer aisle but I have yet to be that fortunate. I still find it odd writing a review on Olive Garden....it seems like such a frequented establishment that if you don't know what it tastes like you are either a foreigner or Amish. With all of this said, this is an easy decision for a decent dinner out or a backwoods redneck trying to impress his trailer neighbor with a "fancy" I-Talian dinner.

Good, average Italian food for a slightly higher than average price. Locally, Bambino's is much higher quality, with higher quality greens offered in their salad bar, and homemade, authentic sauces, pizzas, and doughs. Although the Olive Garden offers a cheaper, iceberg lettuce salad, it is unlimited. Good, clean standards. If you grew up on authentic recipes, then go to Bambino's. If you just want a good meal, with unlimited salad, and good service, at an ok price, go to the Olive Garden.

Really, only 2 OGs in this entire city? WTF! 15 minute wait on a Sunday night at 7pm. Food came out fast and our waiter Don was pleasant even though he told me he found it interesting I didn't speak English with an accent. My response was, "Um....oooookay!"

I have gone to Olive Garden for the last time. I have always loved this place and maybe it is only the Colorado Springs location, who knows. I went there with my wife for luch and just got the soup and salad. Well the salad was wilted and the bread sticks hard. Kind of like the prepped everything early in the morning or even the night before, but it was bad. The soup was average at best. I probably would have been more satisfied with a can of Progresso at home. You break my heart Olive Garden, my wife an I had been regulars since we started dating in 1988. After 23 years, I have to break the news to you...there is someone else... his name is Johnny Carions Italian Kitchen...

I already hear the groans, The Olive Garden is so americanized italian it can't possibly deserve 5 stars... but we all know what it is going in to it, and the food is still good. Everytime I've been to this location the service has been exceptional, and everything is clean, I'm also a fan of the newish smaller sized deserts that you can order and feel a little less guilty about than when you get a whole slab of tiramisu.

An elder friend wanted to treat us to dinner last night. We went to the Olive Garden on N. Academy. They are running a special on select items for $10 which is a value. We found the Eggplant Parmigiana thinly sliced (probably for the value meal). It was a little on the sweat side. Salad was same quality as usual and they refill it for free. The bread sticks were not hot but still tasty. The Fettuccine Alfredo was much tastier than a similar dish at BJ's. Service was good and quick for 6:30pm. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was fine but not great or exceptional. All in all we would go back another time.

This place is hit or miss. "okay" sometimes and "horrible" other times. But it is inexpensive for a restaurant if you are in the mood for Italian. Gave them a chance today for Mother's Day. Ordered take out for 6 people mainly because they serve eggplant and that is what my elderly parents wanted. When I got home, 3 soups missing from our order. When I called the store back, the lady advised she remembered packing up the soup, so obviously someone walked away with 3 extra soups to their order. Spaghetti was mediocre. Not enough sauce on meal.

Took the family here for dinner after the movies last week, because it's my grandson's favorite restaurant. We were seated quickly; had a GREAT server (Stephanie) and outstanding meals. One in the group really did NOT want to go here; but, later said "that was a really good dinner". Our choices were ravioli, spaghetti, their great salads, seafood brodetto, & lobster cannelloni, and shared desserts afterward. Everything was fresh, tasty....we're fans!

The Olive Garden is the typical chain restaurant. My family and I came to eat on Mother's Day (5 adults and one child) and they started off the service by seating us at a table which was only large enough for four. When the food finally arrived, lukewarm at best, the wait staff had incredible difficulty putting our plates down. They had to clear dishes from the table that were still in use in order to set the main course down. Once we spoke to the manager, he made it a point to let us know that our four top table was intended to be a six top by corporate. This is a classic way to shift the blame away from his store. On top of the painfully slow service this was totally unnecessary as was his comment as he left that we were only the fourth family to complain about table size in two years. I will not be returning to Olive Garden any time soon if ever.

Honestly, this Olive Garden is severely below average. Especially compared to the location by the Chapel Hills Mall. The server we had was very slow and forgetful. She had bright pink/red hair straight from a box which in my opinion looks unprofessional. She was slow to refill drinks which is a pet peeve among my family. She also forgot who ordered what dish so we were playing pass the plate to get them to the right people. I work in the restaurant industry and know it isn't THAT hard to remember who got what food. We ordered fried zucchini as an appetizer and they weren't cooked at all, you could see the batter on all of them. We had to send them back and get new ones, which came less than five minutes before our entrees.. Would not recommend the garlic Rosemary chicken, it was completely flavorless. And the mashed potatoes on the side had some kind of sauce that tastes like watered down turkey gravy. Citrus chicken wasn't bad-chicken was tender and moist. You can't go wrong with the tour of Italy. Or the mushroom de portobello. Both are good, but just average at this location. (They're spectacular at the other location). All in all, I would definitely recommend going to the Chapel Hills location if you have a choice.

We let our teenage daughters pick out a place to eat for New Years Eve this year, and this was the wrong choice. We waited 30 minutes for a table, with empty rooms of tables... Empty. The food was mediocre, very bland and not a lot of taste anymore (Its been a few years since we've eaten here) Cheese ravioli is brought in, frozen and GROSS! Our three daughters didn't eat it, and we weren't offered any discount or something to replace the soggy, non flavorful and the cheese is curdled.

Our waiter was inattentive and apparently does not know how to handle more than one table at a time. Our experience was so bad - I will never be back to any Olive Garden.

Unlimited soup or salad is great. The meals are a great size too. Only downside is the wait time is usually really long.

Gosh, what happened to Olive Garden? The food was bland but the service was good. I have other Italian places to go to instead. I love the salads, though.

This is really sad, but I expected this experience to be so so, and it was great! My meal was delicious! Can't beat the breadsticks and salad either!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
